  Label-free pad printing is a more cost-effective and flexible alternative to heat transfer printing and sewn labels.    Traditional garment factories still rely on screen printing or heat transfer printing for labeling. Screen printing has obvious limitations: it requires the fabric to be completely flat. However, finished garments feature curved necklines, uneven side seams and soft materials. When screen printing is forced onto these irregular surfaces, the screen stencil cannot fit closely against the fabric, resulting in incomplete patterns, ghosting, and even damage to the garments.   Heat transfer labels, by contrast, come with higher costs and longer production lead times, plus poor durability. Since heat transfer films are merely attached to the fabric surface, the labels tend to crack and deform after repeated bending, stretching or washing.     What’s more, heat transfer labeling requires at least two pieces of equipment: a printer and a heat press. Both devices increase energy consumption and generate large amounts of waste.
